Updates with Byron Center AYSO

Hello Byron Center AYSO Family,

My name is Jason Holzhausen and I am the AYSO Area Director for 8J. I'm writing today to give you all some updates regarding Byron Center AYSO Region 815. The Regional Commissioner, Kelli Woodard, is stepping down effective immediately. I'd like to personally thank her for the time and effort she put in with Byron Center AYSO.

At this time I will be stepping in to guide the Region through this transition period while we recruit new leadership. My current focus will be ensuring that the spring season proceeds as close to normal as possible with all of the wonderful players, coaches, and referees that are currently registered.

The Byron Center AYSO Board is in need of volunteers. In order to help the Region flourish I am looking for people that have a passion for volunteerism and making the Region a place for all families to have a safe, fair & fun soccer experience.

The following roles are available to be filled:
Regional Commissioner
Child and Volunteer Protection Advocate (CVPA)
Coach Administrator
Referee Administrator
Safety Director
Scheduler
Fields Manager
Digital Assets Manager

In addition to the board member roles above Byron Center AYSO will need volunteers to help move and setup goals this spring and paint lines each week of the season.

The teams that were formed in the fall will continue this spring with the same players and coaches.

This spring games will begin on Saturday, April 19. There have been some complications with the Saturday reservations for the park and May 17 is the last Saturday we are able to use Douglas Walker Park. For the final week of games ending with May 31 there will be some weeknight games. There will not be games on Saturday, May 24. Game schedules will not be available before April 4.

Over the course of this week I'll be going through the inboxes of emails, that currently total more than 1,000 unread. Please be patient as we navigate this transition together. I understand that there will be lots of questions and I will do my best to respond to parent questions as I learn more about Byron Center AYSO. The immediate need is to fill the board member roles so that there are more people to help. People filling these board member roles will be able to help once they are brought in.
