Spring Soccer Info Is Here

Hello Byron Center AYSO,

The spring season is fast approaching. This has some important information for all players and parents.

AYSO is a volunteer organization. All of your coaches, Referees, and board members are here to provide a safe, fun, and fair soccer experience for everyone. We are able to do that with the help of parents following the Kids Zone pledge you signed when you registered your player. Player's play, Coaches coach, and Parents cheer.

Pets
Byron Center AYSO has adopted a No Pets policy for all AYSO events, including all practices and games. This is in line with the National AYSO pet policy. Any Americans with Disabilities compliant services animal are always exempt from this policy. For the safety of players and the enjoyment of all, we ask all parents, guests, and spectators to please leave your pets at home when you attend any AYSO event.

Board Members
I would like to thank our new board members for joining the team. You can see your new board members on the Board Members page. We do still need to fill some positions.

Teams and Coaches
Coaches will be reaching out very soon, if they haven't already, with information for your team this spring regarding practices and communication. We do have a few new players this spring, as well as a couple new coaches that have filled in for coaches that had to move on over the winter. For the new players, uniforms have been ordered and when they arrive coaches will be made aware.

Practice
Monday, April 14 is the first official day of practices this spring.
All practices this spring are at Douglas Walker Park. We are not able to use Whistlestop Park this spring. If your team practiced at Whistlestop in the fall, your coach will reach out with new practice information.

Game Days
Due to Douglas Walker Park availability, we have these Saturdays for five weeks: April 19, April 26, May 3, May 10, & May 17.
For week six the 12U/14U divisions will play Away games on May 31.
For week six the 5U/6U/8U/10U divisions will play on either May 27 or May 28 in the evening.
We are not able to use DWP on May 31.

Picture Day
Saturday, April 19 is picture day for all teams. A picture schedule will come out after the game schedule is posted. Everyone is encouraged to print the order form before  April 19 to be ready for the photographer.

Next Season
The Coach Administrator, Referee Administrator, and CVPA positions must be filled before we'll be able to open registration for the 2025/2026 season. I have emailed with a couple of people, but no one has claimed those roles yet.

The Regional Commissioner position needs to be filled, but I am willing to continue to help in the role for the next season, but I cannot do any of the other roles.

Registration for the 2025/2026 season will begin with Coach registration for a period of time. Once we have Coaches registered, we will open player registration for the number of players we are able to accommodate based on the number of coaches we have.

I look forward to seeing everyone on the pitch this spring.

Thank you,
Jason Holzhausen
